A window latch of child-safe type consisting of partly one part 7, 8 attached to the windowsill with grip part 16 for manoeuvring the latch and partly one gripping part 15 attached to the window frame. The latch is shaped to prevent inadvertent opening of the window past a certain position and for safe function and an aesthetically appealing look. Based on the invention the gripping part is attached at the lower side of the window frame 2 while one manoeuvre part 7, movable in the fixing part 8, with a locking peg 14 and a grip part 16 is arranged on the sill in the space between this and the window frame. The manoeuvre part can be moved across the movement direction for the gripping part in the channel 17 in this where the channel has an oblique ramp surface 19 on one side. When the window is closed, the peg is moved sideways by the ramp surface in behind a locking tongue 23 which, when the window is open, leads the peg into a latch recess 22 which is arranged in the middle of the channel opposite the side facing against the ramp surface. <IMAGE> |
