The appliance contains a sealed chamber (1) which accommodates a crucible (3) which is kinematically linked to a drive for rotating it, a thermally insulated heater (4) which surrounds the crucible, and a seed crystal (8) holder (7) rod (6) arranged coaxially with the crucible. According to the invention, the kinematic link between the crucible and the drive for rotating it contains a supporting ring (9) on which the crucible (3) is fastened for the purpose of co-rotating them while the single crystal (37) is pulled. The proposed invention ensures unhindered heat supply from the heater to the entire crucible surface, prevents any unwanted temperature drop from the perimeter to the centre of the crucible bottom, and permits the formation in the melt of a thermal field predefined at will. <IMAGE>
