PURPOSE:To prevent slip-off of an elastic coil-shaped screen which is installed in an engine cooling water supply passage and prevents mixing-in of foreign materials such as pebble stones by installing a supporting apparatus onto said screen. CONSTITUTION:When an engine operates, the outer water which is removed of foreign materials by a screen 27 is sucked into a pump 19 from an feedwater passage 23, and the engine is cooled. As the screen 27 is installed in the compressed state onto an opening part 25, the screen 27 is elastically deformed to absorb the impact force, when foreign materials such as pebble stones collides with the screen 27 from the direction shown by an arrow F1, and at the same time, the screen 27 returns to the original state, and the foreign materials are removed. As the supporting part 21A for supporting the intermediate part of the screen 27 is formed on the screen 27 so as to surround the intermediate part, the screen 27 is certainly kept in the installed state without hindering its displacement. |
