A forced synchronizing circuit to protect the haunt of VTR converts a head switching signal to clock pulse for counter(3) through a differential circuit(1) and a rectifier(2). The output of counter(3) is delayed by delay circuits(4-6) and generates forced synchronous signal. The control pulse delayed by variable delay circuit(8) consists of a tracking control volume and variable volume(17) synchronizes the counter(3) so that the forced synchronizing signal is synchronized with an original signal for horizontal synchronization.
