INSPECTING DEVICE FOR MOUNTING OF CHIP PARTS

PURPOSE:To enable an accurate and high speed inspection with automation of the inspection process by employing a TV camera for an device for checking to see whether leadless chip parts are mounted properly in place in a specified condition when the chip parts are mouned on a printed circuit board. CONSTITUTION:After a printed circuit board 2 is positioned in place, a power is supplied to X-axis lighting apparatus 3X from a control section 5 to irradiate a printed circuit board 2 with an almost parallel light slantly from the upper left in the X-axis direction. Dense shadows 7 and 7' are generated on the right of chip parts 6 and 6' and taken with a TV camera 4X slantly from the upper right in the X-axis direction. The control section 5 compares the actual position of the shadows 7 and 7' on the printed circuit board 2 thus taken with the position of reference shadows of a chip part 6 mounted at the specified correct position predetermined to determine the propriety of the position automatically and the results are indicated.
