PURPOSE:To make the charging operation of molten metal automatic and efficient and products uniform, by detecting the amt. of molten metal in a ladle with a load cell, judging the charging conditions with a computer, and operating an air cylinder and a servocontrol motor thereby moving the charging control rod in the ladle upward or downward. CONSTITUTION:A vertical charging control rod 3 which presses the charging port 2 on the inside bottom surface of a ladle 1 is moved upward or downward by the individual operations of an air cylinder 5 and a servocontrol motor 8 moved upward or downward by said cylinder. One end of a base frame 11 which fixes the ladle 1 mounted with these devices continously is supported at a fulcrum 12 and the other end is hoisted with a load cell 13. Charging conditions such as the opening speed of the rod 3, an initial charging weight, the flow rate and weight of charging, etc. are inputted as set values in a microcomputer in order to set the operating range of the cylinder 5 and the motor 8 according to the sizes of the casting molds in the stage of transferring the molten metal into the ladle 1. When the molten metal is charged into the ladle 1 thereafter, the computer judges the charging conditions by high-speed operations with the weight detection signal of the cell 13 according to the respective stages of charging, and operates the cylinder 5 and the motor 8 to move the rod 3 upward or downward, thereby controlling the rate of charging to an optiumum rate in a short time. |
