PURPOSE:To obtain a good emission on the display screen of the first- and n-th- line anodes that correspond to the grid on both ends of a display area by applying direct current or a pulse that becomes positive potential for a filament cathode or a grid scan pulse applied to the first and n-th lines, to an auxiliary grid. CONSTITUTION:Since auxiliary grids 8a and 8b are arranged thereby removing electronic charge on the surface of an insulating substrate 7, an electron emitted from a filament cathode 5 is not deflected inside and the display screen of the first- and n-th-line anodes 1 emit light excellently. Besides, since a signal that becomes positive potential, i.e. direct current or a pulse for the filament cathode 5 is applied to the auxiliary grids 8a and 8b or a grid scan pulse applied to the first- and n-th-line grids 3 is applied, the electron is not deflected by the potential of a filament support 6. As a result, the display screen of the anodes 1 can emit light excellently. |
