PURPOSE:To improve transfer characteristics and to prevent form staining by interposing a high resistor or DC power source between the ground and a metallic piece fitted to the shield form entry-side edge part of a transfer corotron with an insulator between, and raising an edge part potential. CONSTITUTION:The form entry-side edge of the shield of the transfer corotron 5 is equipped with a metallic piece 10 (floating shield) floated electrically over the shield by the insulator 14 and the high resistance 11 is connected. When a switch 15 is set at an earth connection side, lines of electric force from a wire 13 have a dotted line distribution to the shield near the floating shield. When the switch 15 is changed over, corona discharge charge flows to the ground through the shield 10 and high resistance 11 to generate a potential difference between both ends, and the floating shield 10 has a higher potential than the shield body, obtaining a local increase as shown by a solid line. |
