PURPOSE:To prevent a thick toner layer from being formed on a developing sleeve by providing a stopping period of a destaticizing lamp and thus allowing toner from sticking to even a photosensitive drum surface other than an image exposure part. CONSTITUTION:One-component magnetic toner 5 held on a coating sleeve to uniform thickness by a doctor blade 4 forms a thin layer on the developing sleeve 2 to develop a latent image on the photosensitive drum surface 8. The destaticizing lamp 18 for exposing the entire photosensitive drum surface 8 except the image exposure area is operated a time C after the exposing lamp is turned off, and consequently toner moves to the photosensitive drum durface 8 which is not destaticized during the period, so excessive toner on the developing sleeve 2 is removed. Every time every 200th copy is taken, the destaticizing lamp stopping time C is increased. The toner sticking to the photosensitive drum surface 8 is recovered by a cleaner for reuse. |
