PURPOSE:To enhance practicable characteristics, such as durability, by using a photoconductive material having an amorphous silicon layer contg. at least one of hydrogen and halogen, and a specified layer structure. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 101, an auxiliary layer 102 made of an amorphous material consisting essentially of silicon contg. nitrogen, and an amorphous layer 103 contg. at least one of hydrogen and halogen are formed. The layer 103 contains the first layer region 104 contg. oxygen, and the second layer region 105 contg. elements belonging to the 3rd group of the periodic table, both having a common part of each other, and located on the side of the substrate 101. A photoconductive material superior in adhesion between each laminated layer and high in durability is obtained by satisfying the following inequality: tB/(T+tB)<= 4, where tB is thickness of the second layer region, and T+tB is thickness of the amorphous layer. |
