PURPOSE:To improve the utilization efficiency of light from a light source, by initiating the photosynthetic reaction by the instantaneous irradiation of a photosynthetic reaction material with light, and carrying out the photosynthetic reaction thereafter without the irradiation with light. CONSTITUTION:The irradiation device is composed of a transparent rotary rod 20, a reflector 21 placed at the center of rotation oppositely to the rotary rod 20, and reflectors 22 placed circularly opposite to the end of the rotary rod 20. The light transmitted through the reflector 21 is introduced into the rotary rod 20, and transferred successively to the reflectors 22 from the end of the rotary rod 20 according to its rotation. The light transmitted via the reflectors 22 is used as a light source of a photosynthetic reaction chamber 50. The photosynthetic substance in the photosynthetic reaction tank 50 is irradiated with light instantaneously once every rotation of the rotary rod 20 to start the photosynthetic reaction. |
