Ink knives or ink slides are coated by a plasma atomisation process with one of the following substances on the front contact area comprising the contact edge: non-metallic and metallic hard material powder. The layer thickness is about 80 mu m and prevents the premature wear or destruction of the knife by abrasive and corrosive substances in the dye and/or fountain solution.
