PURPOSE:To enhance marking efficiency, by a method wherein a point member made of woven material or felt of stainless steel fibers, glass fibers, carbon fibers or the like is used as a pen point for a marking pen used for marking on a steel material or the like in a coating material. CONSTITUTION:A marking head 3 lifted by a cylinder device 7 is provided with the marking pens 11 in a marking section 10 so that the pens 11 can be projected and retracted controllably, whereby a desired dot chararcter or the like is marked on the material 8 to be marked thereon. The pen point 40 is replaceably fitted to the tip of the pen 11 by a cap 50. The pen point 40 is constituted of a reinforcing cylinder 41 and the point member 42 made of a woven material or felt of stainless steel fibers, glass fibers, carbon fibers or the like fitted in the cylinder 41. It is preferable to provide a cap capable of being detachably fitted to the pen point 40 and to supply the cap with a solvent for preventing an ink from solidifying. |
