In an air conditioner having a housing (1) with an air passage channel (2) there are a filter (5) and a blower (6) arranged one behind the other in the air passage channel. In order to remove smoke, e.g. cigarette smoke, from the air and at the same time to enrich the air with a scent, a scent dispenser (7) is arranged in the air passage channel downstream of the filter (5), and the filter (5) is designed as a smoke filter. <IMAGE>
