The invention relates to a driving head for pneumatic driving equipment, in particular for pile hammers and self-propelled percussion drilling rigs, with a percussion piston which is axially movable in a reciprocating manner in a housing and whose percussion energy can be transmitted to the driving head arranged at the front side of the housing. In order to provide a light and handy driving head which is inexpensive to produce, covers larger diameter ranges for the material to be driven in and is secured against release from its connection with the material to be driven even under vibratory stresses, there are formed in the end face of the driving head a conical annular surface and a thread into which a displacement head piece or a pin-like attachment driving piece with in each case a cone piece corresponding to the conical annular surface and a mating thread corresponding to the thread can alternatively be inserted in a positive-locking but releasable manner in the axial and radial direction.
