PURPOSE:To prevent chips from entering into a groove, by fixing a support extending along the groove to a carrier, and installing a flexible plate covering the groove between the tip of the support in its elongated direction and a support fixing portion. CONSTITUTION:A fixing rest 6 having a chuck is fixed to a guide rest 2, and a groove portion 8 is provided at the right of a sheet surface. This groove portion 8 is made rectangularly. A tail stock 10 being a carrier is provided movably along the groove portion 8, and it is made fixable to the guide rest 2 by bolts. Then, at the side of the tail stock 10, a support 16 extending toward the fixing rest 6 is fixed by bolts 18, and the tip portion 16a of the support 16 is elongated to the lower portion of the fixing rest 6. A flexible plate 20 is extended between the tip portion 16a of the support 16 and its base portion 16b, and it is disposed to close the opening portion of the groove portion 8. The support 16 and the plate 20 are crept into the lower portion of the fixing rest 6 with the movement of the tail stock 10, so that chips on the plate are eliminated by a wiper 28 which is provided for the fixing rest 6. |
