The device for the manufacture of inorganic fibres from molten material comprises a component of revolution (1) which has a partial cavity, supporting on its side area a wear layer (8), a spindle of rotation (2) attached to the centre of the component of revolution (1) and equipped with means for delivering air under pressure (3) to the said partial cavity, and means for guiding the air under pressure from the partial cavity onto the wear layer (8). The gases cooling the component of revolution (1) pass through the channel(s) (7) of a baffle (5) which directs them towards the wear layer (8). The channels (7) of the baffle (5) are provided with adjustable fins. <IMAGE>
