PURPOSE:To assure the automatic travelling of a mobile car, by irradiating a fine linear light beam on a floor surface to set a course and then detecting the light beam by a mobile car to drive a travelling controller. CONSTITUTION:A light source such as a laser light source, a light emitting diode, etc. is provided at the upper part, and a course of 1-10mm. width is set by the light on the floor surface. For a travelling control system mounted on a mobile car, the output of a photodetector 5 consisting of an array of many photodetecting elements is fed to a control part 10 and a processor 11. The processor 11 detects the photodetecting part of the detector 5 and controls a steering wheel motor driving circuit 14 via a steering wheel control part 12 to perform steering by a motor 15 on the basis of the result of decision given from the part 10. At the same time, a travelling motor drive circuit 16 is controlled via a travelling control part 13, and a motor 17 is driven. Thus it is possible to assure the automatic travelling of a mobile car with high accuracy and with no effect given from the soil on the floor surface. This is suited to a freight car within warehouse. |
