<p>A mechanical seal for a valve comprising a sleeve (20, 92) surrounding and attached to a shaft (12,94). A first sealing means (32,96) sealing the leakage path between the inside of the sleeve (20,92) and the shaft (12,94), and a second sealing means (40,100) sealing the flow path between the outside of the sleeve (20,92) and a valve housing (74,99) so that seals are maintained despite rotational and axial movement of the shaft (12,94) and without undue wear on the shaft or sleeve.</p> |
