PROCESS FOR THE GENERATION OF ELECTRIC POWER DURING PERIODS OF PEAK POWER DEMAND The object of the invention is to provide electric power during periods of peak demand, employing a turbine generator facility (60-61) activated by the expansion of compressed air, withdrawn from an underground air storage reservoir (90), in a substantially isothermal system. A generator system, which may comprise a steam boiler (40) or a fuel gasifier (140), is employed for isothermal compression of air into reservoir storage during periods of low power demand.
