PURPOSE:To increase a conversion factor of energy as a powersource in a full range of load through combined action of gas explosion and steam energy, by directly injecting atomized water into a combustion chamber and converting the water into steam with combustion heat of hydrogen gas. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen gas pressurizing injection nozzle 6 and atomized water injection nozzle 7 inject hydrogen gas 8 and atomized water 9 into a combustion chamber 10 simultaneously or under a condition shifted with the timing. These injections are performed in a compression stroke similarly to a normal petroleum engine, in which the injection is stopped immediately before the top dead center simultaneously the compressed hydrogen gas is ignited and fired by a spark plug 3. Thermal energy from firing combustion of the hydrogen gas is directly coverted into mechanical kinetic energy while a part of the gas changes the atomized water in the combustion chamber 10 instantaneously into steam energy, and explosion energy of the hydrogen gas and the steam energy are com bined and converted into mechanical energy depressing a piston 12. Further a low pressure gas supplying bypass 18 for use at a low load is provided in a hydrogen gas supply passage 14 to smoothly perform operation in a low load range. |
