MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent the missing of microprojections by repetitive running by providing the microprojections consisting of specific ultrafine particles and binder on the surface of the abase and forming a thin ferromagnetic metallic film thereon. CONSTITUTION:The thin ferromagnetic metallic film 4 and a protective layer 5 are formed on the nonmagnetic base 2 provided with the microprojections 3 on the surface. These projections 3 consist of the ultrafine particles (e.g.: organisilica sol) having 0.003-0.05mum average particle size and the binder (e.g.: satd. polyester). The binder is compounded at 2-10pts.w.t per pt.wt. ultrafine particles therewith. The ultrafine particles are securely fixed onto the surface of the base 2 according to the above-mentioned constitution and therefore, the missing of the projections 3 by repetitive running is controlled and the output decrease or output fluctuation or drop out arising therefrom is prevented.
