PURPOSE:To recover an 'interruption part' by providing a width narrowing means and a picture expanding means. CONSTITUTION:The width narrowing means 3 narrows by the narrow width the first and the second lines but longitudinally the length does not change as it is to form a line width with one picture element. Thereafter, the picture expanding means 12 expands the first and the second lines in a longitudinal direction and the line width. Thereby, the endpoints of the first and the second lines are connected, as a result of this, the 'interruption part' is recovered. The picture expanding means 12, when optional binarization picture information is inputted, expands the area of a black picture element in the picture corresponding to the binarization picture information.
