PURPOSE:To prevent the dissipation of battery power in a vehicle brake system in which foot brake force is held until next start, by providing such an arrangement that doors in the vicinity of the driver's seat are locked during the braking force being held, and the lock is released by the actuation of a hand brake. CONSTITUTION:Upon brake operation, an actuation signal of a foot pedal 16 from a detector 32 and a vehicle speed signal from a detector 33 are delivered to a control part 26 while a foot brake 25 is applied with braking force. When the vehicle speed approaches to a stopping speed, the control part 26 delivers a drive signal to a braking force holding means 27 and a door lock holding means 28 in the vicinity of the driver's seat for locking both means. When a hand brake 19 is actuated, a detector 31 issues an operating signal which is delivered to the control part 26 for releasing a brake force holding means 27 and a door locking means 28. With this arrangement, the actuation of the hand brake is necessary every time before the driver gets off the vehicle, thereby the dissipation of battery power is prevented. |
