A furnace for smelting and/or redn. has at least one through channel for lining material in which the light arc electrodes are positioned. The electrodes are completed by a jet burner for oil, gas and/or powder-form fuel placed in the channel. - The jet burner is fitted annularly around the hole or channel for lining material, and is provided with water-cooled lance walls. Its point is made of non-wearable material, such as tungsten or of thermo-shock stable, ceramic material. The electrode is formed of the same type of material. The jet burner mouthpiece is adjustable or displaceable relative to the electrode, and is provided with angled holes. It can be rotatable relative to the lance axis. |
