PURPOSE:To offer a liquid injection pump, having an arrangement for prevention of damage, by furnishing a solenoid-operated valve in a release passage, which is to let the fuel flow-in port meet with the fuel passage when they are not in alignment, by controlling the injection timing and amount, and by hindering too high negative pressure or fuel pressure to be generated in the pump's working chamber and the passage. CONSTITUTION:Release passages 26, 27 are connected to the inner sides of the cylinders 28 and 29, respectively, in the body 1, and are put open by control edges 32, 33 of release valves 30, 31 which are fitted slidably at the internal surfaces of the cylinders 28, 29. The release valves 30, 31 are moved by solenoids 36, 37 which work against return springs 34, 35, when energized. The injection timing is determined from the period from a plunger's 12 commencing its inward movement actuated by a ring-shaped cam 10 till the solenoid's 37 being energized to shut the release passage 27. The injection amount is, on the other hand, determined from the period from the solenoid's 37 being energized to shut the release passage 27 till the solenoid's 36 being energized to open the release passage 26. |
