PURPOSE:To ease a cart's descending/ascending on a stairway by installing an auxiliary stairway descending/ascending device to the cart in the vicinity of a ground touching wheel attached to the lower side of the cart so that a part of the bottom surface of the auxiliary device touches an edge of a footstep when the cart climbs over the footstep and the device rotates around this edge as a pivoting point. CONSTITUTION:When a cart must ascends a stairway, the cart body 1 is pulled toward a direction as shown by the arrow mark by a handle 8 whose pulling angle in this case is nearly same as when the cart travels on the flat ground. And if the cart body 1 is pulled further toward the direction A when a ground touching wheel 4 comes to the position as shown by a solid line and moreover an auxiliary L-shaped device 6 comes also to a solid-lined position so that a part of its sole face 11 touches an edge Y of a foot step X of the stairway W, the auxiliary device 6 shifts to position 6' by rotation and touches to the said edge Y as a pivoting point though the pivoting point moves a little forward during the rotation. Thus the wheel 4 is heaved up to position 4' so that it touches the edge Y. In this state, the wheel 4' can climb easily over the edge Y of the stairway W to advance up to position 4'', while the auxiliary device 6 leaves the edge Y to restore its initial position. |
