PURPOSE:To attain sound recording at the optimum point of recording current, by detecting and storing the relation between the change in the recording current and the number of times of data error and setting the current value providing the minimum value of the number of errors automatically. CONSTITUTION:The initial recording current value in response to the types of tape is set with a switch in a recording current control circuit 15. Then, a current within + or -50% of the initial recording current is outputted from the circuit 15 stepwise at a suitable time interval. A digital input signal 1 is recorded by this recording currnt. A reproducing signal 9 is inputted to a digital signal processing circuit 10 and the number of data errors is counted. In the error number output 11, the number of errors corresponding to each recording current value is stored in an external memory 14 at a microcomputer 12. The microcomuter 12 detects a recording current providing the minimum value of the number of errors, the recording current of the control circuit 15 is set to this current value and recording is performed afterward with this current. Thus, the optimum recording current is set automatically and the sound recording is performed. |
