Toluene sulfonic acid derivatives in waste H2SO4 were withdrawn by salting out method and solid-liq. separation as centrifugal separation, absorbing filtration. Thus, mixt. of H2SO4 35.3 wt%, toluene sulfonic acid derivative 19.6 wt%, and waste H2SO4 200g contg. HNO3 1.04 wt% was sucessively maintained at 60≦̸C, added(NH4)2SO4 46g, stirred for 20min, cooled at 5≦̸C, and filtered pptn. to give solid material 73.4 g which was composed of 39.7 wt% toluene sulfonic acid derivative and (NH4)2SO4 9.6 wt%.
