PURPOSE:To protect a registered optional character dot pattern from destruction due to an erroneous operation, by adding a security code to the register code of the optional character dot pattern and determining whether the optional character dot pattern should be registered or not on the basis of the security code. CONSTITUTION:If data of a security code SC1 is inputted by the operator when register code data inputted from a keyboard 5 is stored in an RAM14, the security code SC1 is added to register code data, and this data is stored in the RAM14. If the security code SC1 is not inputted by the operator, a security code having a prescribed value is added to the input register code under the control of a microprocessor 1, and it is stored in the RAM14. It is discriminated whether the code SC1 is equal to a security code SC0 added to an already registered code or not; and if the code SC1 is equal to the code SC0, an input optional character dot pattern to be displayed on a CRT8 is stored in a floppy disc 16. If the code SC1 is not equal to the code SC0, a message indicating that this pattern is already registered is displayed on the CRT8. |
