A method and a device for processing lumps and avoiding bridge formation in a flowing stream of granular material which is metered by special devices for scattering sand, salt or fertilisers. The device is formed by a grating with bars which are parallel to an axis of rotation. They form a surface which is moved to and fro in a pendulum motion by known methods and is situated in the flowing stream.
