PURPOSE:To ensure an immediate countermeasure to the unrecognizable characters without discontinuing the receiving operation, by controlling a facsimile so that the area related to the unrecognizable character with discrimination from other areas in a visible display of picture information. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile/character recognizing part interface 400 connects a facsimile 100 to a character recognizing part 200. The interface 400 transmits the picture information including the characters received through a cable 300 from the facsimile 100 to the part 200 through a cable 302. Then the facsimile 100 is controlled so that the picture information recognized as characters by the part 200 is delivered by the facsimile 100 in the form of a hard copy. The additional information is given to the part of the picture information that is unrecognizable as characters at the part 200 so that it can be displayed on the hard copy in distinction from other areas. |
