<p>PURPOSE:To enable easy formation of vertically oriented films on the surface of the substrates of liquid crystal display panels in contact with liquid crystals by sealing and adhering the substrates then injecting orienting agents diluted with solvents thereby forming said films. CONSTITUTION:Two sheets of substrates are sealed and adhered with epoxy resins or the like by opposing transparent electrodes to each other and providing a specified spacing, whereby an empty panel is constituted. Orienting agents diluted with solvents such as tricholoethane are put into the panel by a method such as impregnation by capillarity or vacuum injection. The solvents are evaporated by heating the panel or by a vacuum method to form vertically oriented films on the inside surfaces of the panel. Liquid crystal materials are injected into the panel and the port is sealed, whereby the liquid crystal display panel is completed.</p> |
