PURPOSE:To improve a winding space factor and to increase an efficiency by shaping the bottom part of a groove provided on an iron core, in such a manner that the roundness of the corner of said part located on the outside in relation to the direction of the curve of the coil end of a random winding housed in said groove is made larger than the roundness of the corner on the inside. CONSTITUTION:The bottom parts of a plurality of grooves 1 provided on the inner or outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical iron core 20 are shaped in such a manner that the roundness 23 of the corner of said part located on the outside in relation to the direction of the curve of the coil end 22 of a random winding is made larger than the roundness 24 of the corner of the inside. Thereby a vacant space 25 forming a play of the winding with the iron core 20 is eliminated, and a winding space factor is improved, while an exciting current and an iron loss are reduced with improved efficiency and power factor. |
