The present invention concerns an arrangement for indicating the mutual position between a towing vehicle 20 and a trailer 8 at the interconnection between them. The arrangement is composed of a pole 2, which is anchored at the bottom in the front part of the trailer. The pole has an indicator element 11 on top for the driver of the tow truck. The arrangement includes a detection rod 3 pointing forward and emerging from the pole, with a free detection end 18. This can be adapted to its position in the lengthwise direction of the trailer relative to its connection point 23, so that the tow truck 20 when backing up with the trailer 8 in order to interconnect with it makes contact with the detection end when the coupling point 22 of the tow truck, looking in the lengthwise direction, is basically in the middle of the coupling point of the trailer.
