PURPOSE:To provide a controller in which the pitch between characters is made variable easily based on a fixed data thereof. CONSTITUTION:A pitch counter 3 sets the pitch between characters. Character data are stored from an external position into shift registers 4 and 5 connected in series to each other. The shift registers shift character data separately stored therein corresponding to the pitch set with the pitch counter 3. Character data overflown with the shift action thereof 5 are stored into shift registers 6 and 7. The selection of the shift register 6 or 7 is managed with a multiplexer 8 according to the command from a control section 2. The contents of the shift registers 6 and 7 are outputted selectively with the multiplexer 9 according to a command from the control section 2. An OR circuit 10 is provided to OR the contents of the shift register 4 with the contents output from the multiplexer 9. |
