PURPOSE:To accurately measure dynamic breaking fragility at the generating point of crack, by providing a specimen fixing board and a measuring means for measuring a load on the specimen and the displacement of the specimen. CONSTITUTION:After determining the displacement variable of each specimen 27 and putting the specimen 27 on the fixing board 32, the board 32 is moved in the axial direction of a load rod 26 to adjust the space between the board 32 and the rod 26 and then fixed on a base plate 33. A prescribed weight 24 is attached to a support 23. When the weight 24 is dropped by a releasing device, a wedge 22 is also dropped together with the weight 24, the back end of the rod 26 is depressed to the taper surface of the wedge 22 and projected in the horizontal direction and a knife fitted to the leading end of the rod 26 collides with the specimen 27. When the back end of the rod 26 passes the taper surface, the rod 26 is separated from the wedge 22 and the wedge type weight 21 is dropped as it is. Consequently a load is applied to the specimen 27 until prescribed displacement is generated, so that the displacement is detected by a measuring means and the size of the load is detected by a load cell 28 attached to the point of the knife. |
