PURPOSE:To extract accurately the motion of a picture in a composite color television signal, by lowering the motion detection sensitivity for the edge part, where the malfunction of motion detection is easy to occur, of the composite color television signal to discriminate a still picture correctly as a still picture. CONSTITUTION:Through te output signal of a BPF21 includes high frequency components of the luminance signal of the still picture and luminance high frequency components and chrominance components of an animation picture, chrominance components of the still picture are eliminated. Though the output signal of a BPF22 includes chrominance components of the still picture and luminance high frequency components and chrominance components of the animation picture, the luminance high frequency components of the still picture are eliminated. Consequently, when outputs of BPFs 21 and 22 are multiplied in a multiplying circuit 25, the multiplication result approximates zero in case of the still picture; but in case of the amination picture, a signal which has luminance high frequency components and motion information corresponding to the level difference between frames of a color difference signal is obtained. This signal is added to the output of an LPF23 by an adding circuit 26 to obtain a signal corresponding to motion information in an output terminal 27. |
