An insert frame (10) for converting a single-glazed window casement (12, 14) to double glazing comprises mitre-jointed support strips (16) which can be inserted into the casement (14) from one side, angle strips (18) which engage over the casement from the other side and overlap with the support strips (16) in a longitudinal edge region, and screw strips (20), which are to be fixed to the angle strip (18) and which, together with the support strip (16) form a cross-sectionally U-shaped region for receiving an edge of a double-glazing unit (24). By appropriate selection of the width of the overlapping region between the support strip (16) and the angle strip (18), the insert frame according to the invention can be inserted into casements of different width or into interconnected casements (12, 14) of a double window. <IMAGE>
