The manufacture of metal circular saw blades by grinding in the tooth gaps in the cylinder or circular discs by means of a filling-profile grinding wheel. The grinding wheel with drive and a dressing attachment is arranged on a perpendicular slide and can be fed into the workpiece. To dress the grinding wheel, a single diamond movable in Cartesian coordinates and controlled by programmed microprocessors can be extended from the dressing attachment, which single diamond dresses the rotating wheel with the desired profile. Two grinding wheels are provided, of which one rough-grinds and the other finish-grinds. <IMAGE>
