PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst stable for a long time even under high temp., by forming a catalyst used in removing NOX in a high temp. exhaust gas by reductive contact with NH3 from a Zr-oxide base catalyst containing Ti-oxide and W-oxide. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas containing NOX is contacted with a catalyst along with NH3 at 500-750 deg.C to remove NOX in the exhaust gas by reduction. In this case, the catalyst is based on Zr-oxide and contains Ti-oxide and W- oxide. For example, the catalyst composition consists of, on the basis of atomic %, about 60-90 Zr, about 2-40 Ti and about 0.5-20 W. |
