A cover device for a monoblock storage battery having cell partition wall (5) which separate plural cell chambers (4) from one another, opposite walls (6) (6) which extend across the partition walls (5), and a covering wall (8) which covers the bottom face of an exhaust gas passage (7) formed between the partition walls (6) (6), the abovementioned elements being provided on the inside of a top wall (2) of a battery cover (1). By the provision of communicating holes (9) in the opposite walls (6) (6) in correspondence to the cells (4), the exhaust gas passage (7) is made to serve as a common exhaust gas passage for each of the cells. Since the exhaust gas passage (7) is provided on the inside of the top wall (2) of the battery cover (1), leakage of electrolyte to the outer surface of the top wall of the battery cover is prevented, and an attractive appearance is obtained. |
