In order to reduce the generation of noise when the sliding door moves, the guide roller (4) consists of a first partial roller (4') with metal running face and a second partial roller (4'') with a running face made of rubber-like material; by correspondingly profiling the guide rail (7) it is ensured that when the sliding door is closed said rail only touches the first partial roller (4'), in contrast otherwise touching the second partial roller (4'') so that when the sliding door is closed no deformation of the second partial roller (4'') occurs. <IMAGE>
