In a tool for caulking a self-aligning plain bearing in a component (5), which bearing has a V-shaped groove (8, 9) at its bearing race (1), a ring consisting of several sectors (18, 19) is provided which has a V-shaped edge (30) which plunges into the V-shaped groove (8, 9) during the caulking.
