The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of organosiloxanes by continuous hydrolysis of organochlorosilanes of the general formula RnSiCl4-n in which R represents hydrogen or identical or different, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl radicals having up to 6 C atoms or monocyclic aryl radicals having up to 8 C atoms and n represents values from 1.7 to 3, using dilute hydrochloric acid. The amounts of hydrochloric acid and organochlorosilane used in the hydrolysis reaction are such that the hydrochloric acid formed after hydrolysis is saturated with hydrogen chloride.
