A water-collecting device for a self-sealing animal drinking valve has a collecting bowl mounted pivotably in a balance-like manner, and means for fastening the same to a water pipe and means for opening operation of the drinking valve. A pivot shaft which is or can be connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the collecting bowl is, with at least one free part region, suspended loosely and pivotably in at least one rear hook formation of the fastening means. As a result, the collecting bowl can be applied and removed easily and rapidly. The pivot shaft also supports an operating cam which is lockable in a rotationally displaceable manner in relation to the shaft or to the collecting bowl and comes into opening engagement with the drinking valve, and the displaceability of which makes possible an adjusting adaptation to the respective drinking valve and the other installation conditions. Preferably, the operating cam is located centrally and in a rotationally fixed manner on a rotationally displaceable pivot shaft. The fastening means can consist of a holding clamp which can be clamped lockingly on the water pipe and which is passed through by the drinking valve, and an intermediate member with the hook formation, which can be connected in a bayonet-like manner to the clamp. This easy-to-handle adaptable water-collecting device constantly makes available a given adjustable water supply independently of a release element to be operated by animals.
