<p>Apparatus for measuring the gradient or inclination of a surface or of a line with respect to a predetermined reference plane, characterized in that it is comprised of a generally rectangular or trapezoidal shaped frame provided with three outer bearing faces (2, 4, 6) arranged at right angle with respect to each other along three sides (1, 3, 5) of said frame, a device (8) integral with the frame, and sensitive to spatial position variations of the apparatus and capable of providing a signal proportional to the angular deviation between one of said bearing faces (2, 4, 6) and said reference plane, and display means (9) for displaying the value of the measurement effected by said sensitive device.
