A process is described for two- and multicoat enamelling in one batch, in which saccharides and/or oxidation, reduction and/or modification products thereof and/or polyethylene glycol are added during preparation of the base enamel slip and if appropriate the intermediate enamel slip, the additives containing up to 50 carbon atoms per molecule.
