<p>Linear copolyesters having a dibasic acid component comprising at least 40 mole percent terephthalic acid moiety and a glycol component comprising at least 40 mole percent 1,4-butanediol moiety. The copolyesters comprise at least one other acid moiety which is a saturated dicarboxylic acid moiety having 3 to 12 carbon atoms and/or a diethylene glycol moiety. The copolyesters having melting points of 40 to 220oC, glass transition temperatures (Tg) of -20?o to 40o¿C, heats of fusion (ΔHδ) not less than 1.0 calorie per gram, and crystalline half times of less than 10 minutes at maximum crystallization temperature. They are especially useful as fusible adhesives for fabric interlinings and in the form of binder fibers for nonwoven fabrics.</p> |
