An electromagnetic support for supporting a body, for example a flywheel, without touching it, has a plurality of translational controllers. These controllers have a PID characteristic, are driven by an actuating sensor and emit an actuating signal to an electromagnet. According to the invention, the controller consists of an operational amplifier with a complete resistor network, the integrating section being formed by the elements (R1, C1) and the differentiating section being formed by the elements (R2, R3, R4, C1, C2). Bandwidth limiting is characterised by two corner frequencies, the first corner frequency being formed by the elements (R4, C2) and the second corner frequency by the elements (C3, R2, R3). The invention is primarily distinguished by a small component cost. <IMAGE>
